Wastewater

Long-term planning is necessary to meet the wastewater treatment and collection needs of municipal systems.

The Municipal Planning Section within the Facilities Construction Branch of the Division of Water is responsible for the planning of municipal wastewater collection and treatment systems, with emphasis on project implementability, environmental soundness and cost effectiveness. See more at the links in the navigation to the left and at the Municipal Planning Section Web site.

Wastewater treatment plants that are at or above 90 or 95 percent of their hydraulic and/or organic capacity are placed on a sewer sanction list. The list of plants released from sewer sanction is also published. You may also download a Sewer Sanction Exemption Request Form in PDF or Word.
