The CCR summarizes information regarding water sources (i.e., rivers, lakes, reservoirs or aquifers), detected contaminants, compliance and educational information. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Web site for CCRs provides guidance documents, training and public service announcements (in multiple languages) to communicate important water system information.
EPA's guidance for water systems (EPA 816-R-05-002, April 2005, 66 pages) provides a wealth of information for preparing the CCR including educational information, special requirements for nitrate, arsenic, lead and trihalomethanes and minimum detection limits.
