Drinking Water Education Materials

Contact the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 800-426-4791 to obtain educator activities and experiments (Grades K-12) about drinking water from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Classroom activities are available from EPA's Web site for kids.

The Energy and Environment Cabinet makes available environmental education and outreach resources for teachers and students on a variety of environmental programs.

Green Teacher is a magazine by and for educators to enhance environmental and global education across the curriculum at all grade levels.   

The National Environmental Services Center and the National Drinking Water Clearinghouse in West Virginia provide technical assistance and information about drinking water as well as environmental training. The National Drinking Water Clearinghouse offers free technical briefs on a variety of drinking water topics.

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) offers cost-effective, Web-based training for water professionals and college instructors, trainers and engineering students. AWWA's Online Institute provides over 30 self-paced courses.  

For lesson plans on drinking water and other environmental issues, try the Internet sites listed below. You will need to perform a search for specific lesson plans in drinking water or the environmental topic of your choice.
