Hit-or-miss showers to continue

The Associated Press

Weather forecasting has become more difficult in Kentucky because of the hit-or-miss showers and thunderstorms that have been occurring.

Some locations have received rain sufficient to make a small dent in drought conditions, but other areas continue to remain bone dry.

During the weekend, the National Weather Service in Louisville reported one-point-54 inches of rain at its office. Two miles away at the Louisville International Airport, eight-tenths of an inch was recorded.

Louisville's rainfall is below average for the year by almost five inches. Lexington is seven-point-three inches below average and Bowling Green is ten-point-six inches below.

More scattered storms and showers are in the forecast through Thursday.
